RASC News Agency: The educational authorities of the Taliban group in Sar-e-Pol have issued an announcement regarding the inauguration of a girls’ school in the Sancharak district of the province. Mohammad Rahmani, the head of education for the Taliban group in Sar-e-Pol, disclosed to the media on Saturday, December 2nd, that this school was both funded and constructed by a businessman named Said Shah Hussaini.

Rahmani further elaborated, revealing that the school, situated in Charoh village in the Sancharak district this provence, incurred a construction cost of $100,000. The facility encompasses an expansive area of 12,000 square meters, featuring six classrooms, an office, a bathroom, a toilet, as well as equipped with chairs and desks. Notably, the land on which the school stands was procured by the same businessman, who ensured the school’s construction in a comprehensive and foundational manner for the community’s benefit.

Moreover, the establishment of this girls’ school comes at a juncture when the Taliban group has implemented stringent restrictions on girls’ education beyond the sixth grade, leading to school closures for them. These limitations have sparked concerns among Afghanistani citizens nationwide, who have persistently voiced grievances about the scarcity of educational institutions and harbor apprehensions about the future educational prospects for their children. Additionally, it is imperative to underscore that the Taliban group, since assuming power in Afghanistan, has prioritized the development of religious schools, occasionally repurposing existing schools into religious institutions.
