RASC News Agency: According to reliable sources, it has been reported that the leader of the Taliban group, in conjunction with the Ministry of Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice, has issued orders to establish religious school dormitories in every district across the country. Mawlawi Sadruddin Saad, the head of finance and accounting within the Taliban’s Ministry of Education, broached this matter during his recent visit to Ghor province, which took place on November 28th. He emphasized that dedicated teams of Taliban members have been assembled to undertake the construction of these dormitories to serve each religious school.
During his visit to Ghor, Saad specifically selected a religious school situated in Dolina district as the site for a dormitory capable of accommodating 50 individuals. However, the funding source for these dormitory projects remains unclear. It is noteworthy that the Taliban group has implemented a ban on girls above the sixth grade attending school and has effectively shuttered university doors to female students since assuming control of the country. Paradoxically, they have expressed particular interest in the establishment of religious schools.
Recent reports indicate that the Taliban group has constructed more than 6,000 religious schools across various provinces within the country over the past two years. Nevertheless, Afghanistan currently grapples with a multitude of crises and challenges, including a surge of repatriated refugees from Pakistan and a weakened economy at the household level. Despite these pressing concerns, the Taliban group appears to be prioritizing the construction of dormitories for religious schools. International organizations have warned that the Afghanistan economy, now under Taliban control, teeters on the precipice of collapse, resulting in a significant increase in the number of people requiring humanitarian assistance.
