RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates, citing China’s ambassador, has announced that the country is providing assistance to Afghanistani returnees with 100 million Chinese yuan in various sectors across Afghanistan. According to a press release from the Taliban’s ministry published on Wednesday, Jan 31, Khalil-ur-Rahman Haqqani, the acting minister of the ministry, met with Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, to discuss aid for these migrants.

The ministry’s press release stated that the two sides discussed the priority of humanitarian aid for Afghanistani returnees, as well as mechanisms for its transfer and distribution. Quoting the Chinese ambassador in Kabul, the Taliban’s Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates added, “This aid from China is allocated for the establishment of shelters, tents, winter clothing packages, and healthcare provisions for Afghanistani migrants.” Previously, during a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs for the Taliban group, the Chinese ambassador in Kabul declared that his country is prepared to address the issues of returnee migrants from Pakistan.

It is noteworthy that following the expulsion of Afghanistani migrants from Pakistan, several human rights organizations have highlighted that many of these migrants lack access to adequate living conditions. After the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, China is one of the few countries maintaining relatively close ties with the group and has previously signed agreements with the Taliban in various sectors.
