RASC News Agency: Local sources in Daikundi province have reported an incident involving the death of a man and his 16-year-old daughter in Miramor district due to carbon monoxide poisoning. The incident took place in the “Omid” area of Miramor district and was confirmed by sources on Thursday, November 16th. The man, who owned a chicken farm, had constructed a plastic tent nearby for shelter. Both the father and daughter lost their lives as they slept inside the tent, succumbing to coal smoke inhalation. The bodies were discovered by local residents who promptly alerted the authorities the following morning.
Despite the gravity of this incident, the local officials of the Taliban group in Daikundi have not released any statements regarding the matter. This is not an isolated case, as previous reports have highlighted similar incidents of carbon monoxide poisoning during colder weather in various provinces across the country. These incidents often occur due to the lack of proper living facilities and the negligence of individuals using coal, particularly unspecified and low-quality coal.
It is crucial to note that since the Taliban assumed control of the country, unemployment and poverty rates have significantly risen among households. Consequently, many people find it challenging to afford adequate living conditions. Furthermore, the citizens of Kabul Province have expressed their grievances regarding the high cost of fuel and the scarcity of employment opportunities, which further exacerbate their financial hardships. As a result, they are unable to purchase sufficient fuel for the winter season, leading to these incidents.
