RASC News Agency: In response to the escalating forced deportations of Afghanistani immigrants from Pakistan, the Pakistani government has recently announced its plans to open three new border crossings with Afghanistan to expedite the deportation process. According to a report from the Ministry of Interior of the Sindh province, as quoted by the Pakistani newspaper “Dawn,” these new crossings are scheduled to become operational today, November 13th. The report also emphasizes that the failure to deport these illegal Afghanistani refugees may pose future security challenges for Pakistan.
The newspaper “Dawn” has reported that the institutions responsible for deporting immigrants have encountered difficulties in registering and processing the identities of Afghanistani immigrants. The lack of proper identification and registration of these individuals has contributed to an increase in security threats. Official reports from Pakistani newspapers indicate that, so far, 88,000 Afghanistani refugees have been repatriated through the Chaman crossing alone, with the process still ongoing.
Meanwhile, the Sindh province of Pakistan has issued a warning, stating that the presence of Afghanistani immigrants poses a threat to the collective identity of the state. If these immigrants are not expelled from Pakistan, it is projected that the state’s collective identity may undergo significant changes by 2040. The official report from the Sindh Ministry of Interior reveals that hundreds of thousands of refugees, who possess official residence documents, are currently residing in Sindh without the necessary documentation. Statistics indicate that approximately 150,000 Afghanistani refugees are living in Sindh without proper residence documents.
