RASC News Agency: Reports from Bamyan province indicate that “dozens of Taliban members” have demolished two graves at the “Dehsorkh” shrine in the Yakawlang district of the province in a unilateral manner. Sources informed the media that at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, Feb 14, 16 armed individuals arrived at the shrine with two police ranger vehicle and a Flancoach vehicle and carried out this action.

According to sources, local residents opposed the desecration of the graves by these individuals, and the Taliban police in Bamyan detained them. As per the accounts from sources, these individuals confronted the Taliban police in the Yakawlang district and were apprehended by the police force of this group. According to local sources, Taliban members have informed the local populace and the police of this group that these individuals are followers of Sarajuddin Haqqani and a Taliban governor who have been dispatched from Kabul to investigate this shrine.

This incident occurs as reports indicate that Taliban members in Bamyan province had previously desecrated graves in search of historical artifacts. In one instance in the month of October, armed individuals from the Taliban group consecutively vandalized a shrine using a mechanical digger for three days in the “Tarblaaq” area in the western part of the Panjab district in Bamyan province.
