RASC News Agency: Reliable sources have confirmed to RASC News Agency that two reporters of Radio Killid, who were arrested by the Taliban group in Nangarhar province nearly 20 days ago, have been released.
Today’s sources have told the media that Jan Agha Saleh and Mohammad Faqirzai, journalists of Killid Radio, have been released from the intelligence prison of the Taliban group.
The Afghanistan Journalists’ Center of the Afghanistan Journalists’ Union also confirmed the news of the release of Faqir Mohammad Faqirzai and Jan Agha Saleh, but said that it is not yet clear under what conditions these two journalists were released from prison.
It should be mentioned that these two local journalists of Killid Radio were arrested nearly three weeks ago by the forces of the Taliban group in Nangarhar province, but the reason for their arrest has not yet been determined.
The Afghanistan Journalists’ Center has announced that the arrest of these two journalists was against the country’s mass media law and their freedom should not have been taken away.
This center emphasized that according to the Law of Public Media, journalists are free to do their professional work, and the authorities have no right to impose restrictions on their work or threaten them.
Taliban group after their domination in the country have arrested, tortured and in some case killed journalist all around the country, it is not the first case, which Taliban committed against Afghanistan journalists.
Meanwhile, published reports indicate that the media, journalists, women and girls are among the main victims of the policies of the Taliban group since they dominated the country.
It should be noted that media supporting organizations worldwide said that freedom of expression is being stifled in Afghanistan and if this trend continues, the work of journalists in Afghanistan will be closed.
