RASC News Agency: A number of residents of Jawzjan province, who have gathered to receive humanitarian aid, say that poverty among them has increased with the Taliban group regaining control over Afghanistan.
The World Food Program (WFP) distributed food items to more than 6,500 families in Jawzjan province, which the residents of this province, while expressing their satisfaction at receiving this aid, do not consider it enough for them.
These aids, which were distributed by the Social Strengthening Institute of Afghanistan (CHA) yesterday, Wednesday, August 23, the recipients of these aids, still wanted more cooperation with the people of this province.
Although the residents of Jawzjan province welcome the national and international aid organizations for the implementation of humanitarian aid, they said: “Basic and fundamental work must be done for the people.”
These Jawzjan residents emphasized that if the situation continues like this, people will be forced to migrate in groups due to poverty.
Unemployment, lack of access to basic health services, poverty, and the high price of raw materials are among the major challenges facing the people of Jawzjan and other provinces of the country.
Despite the fact that during the past two years, various national and international organizations have helped the people of Afghanistan; but with that, people’s living conditions have become more difficult.
Meanwhile, the United Nations says that 29 million people in Afghanistan are facing hunger. In addition, international humanitarian organizations have reported the lack of funds to help the people of Afghanistan.
