Wahidullah, a resident of Bamyan province, who owns a shop and guesthouse near Buda, says that in the past years, he had more customers and his sales market was strong. Nevertheless, since two years, it has lost its foreign customers.
Wahidullah, the shopkeeper, said: “In the last two years that we have been here, we have rarely seen foreign tourists. There were many tourists during the republic, but now we have not seen a single foreign tourist in two months.”
Mohammad Ali; Another resident of Bamyan province says: “I have not seen any foreign tourists (since the Taliban took over). Before, during the rule of the Republic, there were many tourists, but now it has decreased.”
The shopkeepers of “Ghalghula” market also complain about the lack of work and say that with the significant decrease of foreign tourists, their work and professional situation is not defined.
With historical and cultural attractions, Bamyan hosted thousands of foreign tourists every year. But after the Taliban group regained control in Afghanistan, the significant decrease in the number of foreign tourists has caused the stagnation of the labor market in this province.
