RASC News Agency: According to sources from Kandahar province, an unidentified group has killed an elderly man in the sixth district of the province. On October 7th, media outlets reported that the victim, identified as Seyed Mohammad, was murdered on October 5th in the Qala-e Zawan Aka region of the sixth district. Sources have confirmed that the elderly man was killed by a sharp weapon, and his body was discovered in the sixth district of Kandahar province. Although the motive for the murder has not been fully established, it is believed to be a personal matter.

The Taliban group has reportedly detained the victim’s son from the sixth district of Kandahar province for a preliminary investigation, adding another layer of complexity to the case.

It is noteworthy that targeted killings have been on the rise in Afghanistan, with daily reports of mysterious and targeted killings and the culprits escaping the crime scene from various provinces of the country.
Despite the Taliban’s assurances that they guarantee the rights of all Afghanistani’s and maintain security in the country, the lack of legal institutions and regular follow-up of cases by responsible entities in this sector has resulted in a significant increase in such crimes since the group’s takeover of Afghanistan.

Furthermore, in addition to targeted murders, reports of other crimes such as armed robberies and kidnappings are also being published from different parts of the country.
