RASC: US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller says that the country and some of its partners have suspended several aid programs in Afghanistan in response to concerns about the use of humanitarian aid by the Taliban.
Miller states that these programs have been postponed in Ghor, Ghazni and Uruzgan provinces.
He says that the United States and its partner aid organizations are serious in preventing the involvement of the Taliban group in operations and relief projects in Afghanistan.
He said: “We suspended the aid program in several cases, because there was a suspicion of the involvement of the Taliban group in it. We suspended the relief operation in Ghor province after the Taliban wanted to use it in another direction. “
According to him, the World Food Program suspended the aid distribution program in two Ghazni cities from Jadi 1401 to Hamal 1402(Afghanistan Calendar).
Because local authorities were planning to interfere with the distribution of aid, in Hamal, a US government partner organization suspended its activities in Uruzgan after the Taliban interfered in the hiring process.
“I must state very clearly that America does not provide any kind of aid to the Taliban group, the aid is for the people of Afghanistan and not the Taliban group, all the organizations that implement the programs of the United States are required to deliver the aid to the right people with precise mechanisms. They need it.” He emphasized:
