RASC News Agency: Rahmatullah Nabil, leader of Afghanistan’s National Freedom Party, declared on the anniversary of the Taliban’s return to power that the international community, along with certain U.S. officials, has deliberately overlooked the atrocities committed by the Taliban. In his statement commemorating this grim milestone, Nabil asserted that the global community, as well as specific American officials, have chosen to ignore the Taliban’s crimes, which has, in turn, allowed many to remain indifferent to their heinous actions.
Nabil urged anti-Taliban factions to unite under a common banner and engage in a collective struggle to liberate Afghanistan from the Taliban’s tyranny. He stressed that unity among resistance forces would significantly weaken the Taliban, enabling a more effective and sustainable opposition. In a statement released on Wednesday, August 14, the former head of Afghanistan’s National Directorate of Security emphasized that the primary strategy for overcoming the current crisis and safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity is a national dialogue among the Afghanistani people aimed at achieving a consensus.
Nabil warned that if the Taliban refuse to engage in meaningful negotiations, a national uprising against the group will become inevitable. In such a scenario, victory will belong to the people, not to a singular faction. Reflecting on the Taliban’s three years of rule, Nabil condemned the United Nations, the international community, and particularly certain American officials, for turning a blind eye to Taliban atrocities, thus acting in violation of fundamental human rights principles and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Meanwhile, the Taliban have declared August 14 as the “Day of Victory,” celebrating it extensively across the country. Citizens were urged to participate in these commemorative events.
