RASC News Agency: Local sources in Badghis report the fatal shooting of a man following a dispute with neighbors in Jund District. The victim, identified as Ahmad, was reportedly killed by gunfire on the evening of Monday, November 11, in the “Takhalangah” area of the district. Sources indicate the incident stemmed from a community dispute, with one source describing the motive as “ethnic.” The Taliban’s security command in Badghis has yet to comment on the case.
This incident is one of a recent wave of violent killings across Badghis and other provinces. Just two weeks ago, sources in Laghman reported the assassination of a prominent tribal elder, Abdul Ghafour, who was shot by unknown assailants while returning home in the “Qala-e-Bay” area of Alishang District on Friday, November 8. His body was discovered hours later, though the perpetrators and their motives remain unidentified.
Reports indicate that in the past two weeks alone, three individuals were murdered in Qala-e-Bay, with additional deaths reported in Kabul and Faryab. In the past week, two more murders have occurred in Nangarhar. Sources say a shopkeeper was fatally shot during a confrontation in the “Golai-e-Arabs” neighborhood of Jalalabad’s third district, though the motive behind this dispute is also unclear. Daily reports continue to surface of killings and the discovery of bodies across various provinces, with a substantial number of these incidents attributed to unidentified gunmen. The motives often remain opaque, leaving families and communities without answers.
Since the Taliban assumed control of Afghanistan, the number of unsolved murders, clandestine killings, and assassinations of tribal elders has escalated sharply. Some citizens suspect that Taliban-affiliated individuals may be involved in certain cases, further intensifying the atmosphere of fear and uncertainty across the nation.
