RASC News Agency: Sources within Afghanistan have reported that the Taliban, in a recent meeting with media officials, have issued a directive prohibiting live broadcasts of political programs. Under this new ruling, all political content must be pre-recorded and aired only after receiving clearance from the Taliban. Informed sources have confirmed that the Taliban have enforced stringent new restrictions on the media.
During the meeting on Saturday, September 21, the group ordered domestic media outlets to record their political programs and censor any “sensitive” content that conflicts with their policies before broadcast.
It was further conveyed in the meeting that no media outlet is permitted to air any content critical of the Taliban’s policies and laws. According to these new regulations, the subjects of daily political discussions must first be approved by Taliban officials. Media outlets can no longer host political programs on any topic without prior authorization from the group.
Observers have noted that the Taliban is heading down a path of absolute authoritarianism, eerily similar to their first regime. Yet, the world continues to stand by, silently witnessing the group’s ethnic and religious despotism, while simultaneously providing them with millions of dollars each week. This financial support enables the Taliban to further entrench and enforce their regressive, archaic policies with greater efficiency.
