RASC News Agency: Local sources in Nangarhar province have reported that the entrance to the Torkham crossing has been blocked for trucks. Pakistani border forces have closed this passage for cargo vehicles since approximately 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 21st. The closure is said to be in response to the Taliban group’s demand for Afghanistan visas from Pakistani drivers. Taliban officials have confirmed the closure of the Torkham crossing but have not provided further details. This crossing has been closed multiple times in the past due to conflicts between the Taliban group and the Pakistani military.

It is important to note that despite Pakistan’s relatively favorable relationship with the Taliban group compared to other nations, recent tensions have arisen due to border disputes and the presence of the Pakistani Taliban in Afghanistan. Moreover, Pakistan has taken the decision to expel Afghanistani immigrants who lack proper documentation, citing economic issues and the involvement of Afghanistani citizens in terrorist attacks on Pakistani soil. Reports indicate that since the deadline set by Pakistan for the deportation of undocumented Afghanistani immigrants has expired, thousands of Afghanistani immigrants are being expelled from Pakistan daily and returned to their home country.

International aid organizations have expressed concern over the dire situation faced by Afghanistani refugees expelled from Pakistan as they lack access to adequate living facilities. The International Rescue Committee has previously stated that these refugees have lost all their belongings and are forced to start over.
