Taliban Education Director in Parwan Arrested on Adultery Charges

RASC News Agency: Local sources from Parwan province report the arrest of Mawlawi Abdul Habib Tawazoo, the Taliban’s Director of Education in Sheikh Ali district, on charges of engaging in extramarital affairs with the headmistresses of two girls’ schools. On Sunday, August 4th, sources informed the media that Taliban forces recently detained Mawlawi Abdul Habib, who was dismissed from his position nearly two weeks ago.

According to these sources, Mawlawi Habibullah is considered a prominent commander within the Taliban, having fought against the former government forces for many years. Local Taliban officials in Parwan province have not yet commented on the matter. It is noteworthy that this is not the first instance of Taliban officials and fighters being arrested on charges of extramarital affairs in various provinces across the country.

For instance, on July 18th, a Taliban judge was arrested for allegedly engaging in an extramarital affair with the wife of the former Taliban governor of Farsi district in Herat. It is worth mentioning that while the Taliban often release their own members arrested on moral corruption charges without trial, they publicly punish ordinary citizens for similar offenses.
