Dalrymple: Biden is the Midwife of the Taliban’s Birth

RASC News Agency: In response to President Joe Biden’s announcement of his withdrawal from the upcoming U.S. election, William Dalrymple, a renowned author on Afghanistan history, condemned Biden’s foreign policy as catastrophic for the world. Dalrymple asserted that Biden facilitated the rise of the Taliban’s horrific regime, labeling him the “midwife responsible for the birth of the Taliban.”

In his pointed critique, Dalrymple further accused Biden of enabling Iran’s access to financial resources and supporting mass killings in Gaza. This criticism emerged after Biden’s announcement on Sunday that he would not be running in the next election. In his statement, Biden claimed that his administration has positioned America better than ever to lead the world.

Dalrymple, with a hint of sarcasm, remarked that Biden seems oblivious to the catastrophic impact his policies have had on significant parts of the world. He cited the U.S. withdrawal from Afghanistan and the subsequent resurgence of the Taliban as prime examples of these disastrous policies. It is noteworthy that Biden has repeatedly defended the final withdrawal of U.S. troops from Afghanistan, a timeline set during Donald Trump’s administration, arguing that America’s priorities have shifted.

William Dalrymple’s 2014 book, “Return of a King: The Battle for Afghanistan,” explores the first Anglo-Afghanistan War and offers a critical lens on Western involvement in the region. In conclusion, Dalrymple asserted that Biden’s role in the rise of the Taliban was pivotal, likening it to a midwife’s essential role in childbirth.

Last night, Joe Biden officially announced his decision not to seek re-election in the forthcoming U.S. election.
