Resistance Forces Conduct 40 Military Attacks Against the Taliban in One Month

RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front claims that its forces have launched 40 military attacks against the Taliban in various provinces over the past month. Ali Maisam Nazary, spokesperson for the National Resistance Front, announced this on Monday, August 5th, via a message on the social network X, adding that these attacks occurred exclusively in July 2024.

The spokesperson further noted that these operations also targeted 21 other regional terrorist networks within Afghanistan. The National Resistance Front of Afghanistan has periodically reported military attacks against Taliban members in different provinces, inflicting casualties. Thus far, Taliban officials have not commented on these claims. Previously, the UN Secretary-General, in a report to the UN Security Council, noted an increase in attacks by anti-Taliban fronts.

Additionally, the Long War Journal news website had earlier reported on the activities of armed groups opposing the Taliban, examining their role in countering the group. According to the report, the Taliban are fighting to suppress this growing multifaceted resistance. However, the movement led by the National Resistance Front is still in its infancy and does not yet pose a significant threat to the Taliban.

Despite the Taliban facing internal disputes and attacks from radical terrorist groups such as ISIS, the anti-Taliban resistance groups are also contending with a similar array of threats in a constantly shifting battlefield.
