RASC News Agency: The World Food Program (WFP) recently declared a reduction in its aid provisions for Afghanistan. In a video released on Monday, December 25th, the organization conveyed that, despite the harsh winter conditions in Afghanistan, it is compelled to diminish food assistance for approximately 10 million individuals due to inadequate funding.

Recognizing the gravity of the situation, the World Food Program (WFP) has issued an appeal to international organizations to extend their support to the Afghan people during this winter season. The organization underscored that the Afghan population is now in desperate need of assistance more than ever before.

Emphasizing the severity of the food insecurity situation, the World Food Program disclosed that Afghanistan ranks among the eight countries globally facing the most acute food insecurity. According to the report released by the organization, the people of Afghanistan have endured significant hardships since the onset of the cold season.

In a prior announcement, the World Food Program expressed gratitude for the €25 million donation from the European Union to aid the vulnerable population in Afghanistan. The confluence of regime changes, the migrant deportation crisis, recent earthquakes, water scarcity, climate fluctuations, and recent droughts has contributed to the proliferation of poverty and its detrimental impact, particularly on women and children. This has resulted in an increased number of individuals in need among the Afghanistani citizens.

Since the Taliban group assumed power, the people of the country have faced a myriad of challenges. This has prompted an escalating number of citizens seeking refuge in neighboring nations, while the dire humanitarian crisis remains unresolved.
