RASC News Agency: Following the announcement of Eid al-Adha by the Taliban’s Supreme Court, former Afghan National Security Chief Rahmatullah Nabil stated that this “Supreme Court is not a court but the Haqqania Madrassa of Akora Khattak.” Nabil made this remark on Saturday, June 15, via his social media account on X, adding that Afghanistan’s “culture and history are held hostage by a vindictive, regressive group with decayed ideologies.”
Rahmatullah Nabil further commented, “When a geography, a culture, and a history are held hostage by a vindictive, regressive, and proxy group with decayed thinking, one cannot expect more from them.” It is worth noting that, contrary to Saudi Arabia, which declared Saturday as Arafat Day and Sunday as the first day of Eid al-Adha, the Taliban declared Sunday as Arafat Day and Monday as the first day of Eid.
The Haqqania Madrassa, renowned for training extremist forces, is located in the town of Akora Khattak in Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. Most of the Taliban leaders are alumni of this madrassa. For several years, the Haqqania Madrassa has been a training center for a large number of Pakistanis and Afghan refugees. Many students from this madrassa have returned to Afghanistan to fight against the former Soviet forces and later the American troops or to propagate jihad.
Rashidul Haq Sami, one of the officials at the Haqqania Madrassa, recently told The New York Times that he felt proud that the students of this madrassa are now the current rulers of Afghanistan. The deputy head of the Haqqania Madrassa in Pakistan stated that currently, graduates from their madrassa are serving as ministers, judges, and military commanders in Afghanistan.
