RASC News Agency: Local Taliban officials in Laghman province report that four children have been killed and injured due to a roof collapse. Abdul Malik Niazi, the Taliban spokesperson for Laghman province, stated that the incident occurred on June 15 in Dawlat Shah district.
According to Niazi, the collapse happened when floodwaters changed course, destroying the house of a man named Faqir. The spokesperson added that one child died and three others were injured, with the injured being taken to the hospital.
A similar incident occurred recently in Laghman province, where the collapse of a roof in Sultan Qazi Baba town resulted in the deaths of three family members and injuries to four others. Natural disasters in various provinces have previously caused deaths, injuries, and displacement, increasing the demand for humanitarian aid.
Pari Gul Habibi, a psychosocial support worker with the UNHCR, mentioned that floods have severely affected people’s mental and physical well-being, noting that some women experienced miscarriages due to fear and anxiety post-flood. The UN also reported that, alongside women, children are among the most vulnerable, suffering significantly from natural disasters.
