RASC: The United Nations Human Rights Council says that the Taliban group has violated the rights of Afghanistani women and girls in various areas of life.

On Saturday, July 15, the United Nations Human Rights Council, in a statement condemning the restrictions that violate women’s rights, expressed concern about the lack of a “legal and standard” judicial system.

The announcement described the situation of women in Afghanistan as “deplorable” and added that the Taliban group has deprived women and girls from sports halls to beauty parlors and education and work in non-governmental organizations.

The declaration added that the critical situation in this country has been ignored for a long time since the start of the fierce war between Russia and Ukraine along with other major global issues.

The United Nations Human Rights Council has expressed concern about field trials and corporal punishment of women, girls and men by the forces of the Taliban group and said that the lack of a fair trial process is another important difficulty in the country recently.

Referring to the field court on Wednesday, July 11, in Paghman city of Kabul province, where four people, including a woman, were flogged in public, this council said that the Taliban group resumed corporal punishment throughout Afghanistan after gaining power.

The announcement said that human rights groups have repeatedly stated that people arrested and imprisoned by the Taliban do not have access to a “legal and standard justice system”.

The Human Rights Council further said that the cruel regime of the Taliban group has been strongly condemned all over the world for violating the human rights of citizens.

This is while the Taliban group has methodically/systematically excluded women and girls from all areas of life for nearly two years after re-dominating Afghanistan.

In the latest case, the administration of the Taliban group, through an order attributed to Mullah Hebatullah, the absent leader of this group has banned the operation of women’s beauty parlors throughout the country.
