RASC News Agency: In the expanse of Nangarhar province, the Taliban faction persists in their arbitrary and ruthless actions against unsuspecting civilians, manifesting in the demise of a young man through merciless gunfire. This disconcerting incident, unveiled in media reports on Tuesday, January 9th, transpired in the “Chingi” area, nestled within the Hesarak district of this province, as Taliban group forces callously terminated the life of the young man, identified as Habibullah, while he innocently gathered firewood in the mountainous terrain.
The precise motive behind this act orchestrated by the Taliban group remains shrouded in ambiguity, yet sources strongly insinuate a deliberate and intentional nature. In the aftermath of this event, reports suggest that the Taliban group, despite their assertions of newfound governance, has apprehended two of its members, underscoring a chilling parallel to past incidents where Taliban group forces, stationed at checkpoints and inspection points, ruthlessly perpetrated shootings against unarmed civilians across diverse provinces. It is paramount to emphasize that since the Taliban Group’s usurpation of control, their conduct towards civilians, particularly targeting the youth and non-Pashtun ethnicities in various provinces, has been characterized by extreme violence, resulting in widespread oppression.
The Taliban’s actions, notably their systematic persecution of women and brazen disregard for human rights, have garnered vehement condemnation from prominent international human rights organizations. Consequently, sanctions have been imposed against specific members of the group due to their egregious violations of women’s rights, underscoring the urgent imperative for international intervention and accountability.
