RASC News Agency: The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation has announced that a total of 1,905 migrants were expelled from Iran and Pakistan within a single day, through both “compulsory and voluntary” means. According to a message posted on the social media platform X on Tuesday, June 11, 1,774 migrants were expelled from Iran, while an additional 371 were sent back from Pakistan, all returning to Afghanistan.
The Ministry further detailed that these migrants re-entered Afghanistan via the Torkham, Spin Boldak, and Islam Qala border crossings. While the Taliban provided limited details regarding those forcibly expelled from Iran, they disclosed that 261 Afghanistani nationals were compulsorily deported from Pakistan. The Taliban have directed these returning migrants to seek assistance from the United Nations’ International Organization for Migration.
In recent times, Pakistan and Iran, two countries hosting millions of Afghanistani migrants, have intensified the expulsion of these individuals. Following the Taliban’s ascension to power, a significant number of Afghanistani citizens have fled due to unemployment, poverty, and the restrictive policies imposed by the Taliban regime.
