RASC News Agency: A reliable source in Ghor province reports that a Taliban militant, accompanied by several associates, launched a brutal nighttime assault on a woman in the Asfarmani village of Dawlatyar district, intending to behead her. While they failed to carry out the execution, they inflicted severe wounds to her throat. The source confirms that the woman survived but remains under intensive medical care. A video circulating in the media shows the injured woman speaking. She identifies herself as Hanifa and, when asked to name her assailant, states: “Saydak, son of Noorak.” Another source, however, claims that the attacker is in fact Sayed Mohammad, son of Noor Mohammad, an active Taliban member.
According to the source, Hanifa is the sister of the Taliban’s police chief in Lal wa Sarjangal district, Ghor. The source further alleges that four nights ago, during pre-dawn hours, Sayed Mohammad, accompanied by five other men, attempted to execute Hanifa. However, local villagers became aware of the attack and intervened, preventing them from completing their act of brutality. Hanifa herself recounts that multiple individuals restrained her, including the wife and daughters of Saydak. Regarding the motive behind the assault, a source reveals that the day before the attack, Hanifa had engaged in a verbal dispute with Sayed Mohammad’s wife. During this argument, she had reportedly stated that “the people’s living conditions have deteriorated under Taliban rule, and things were better in the past.”
The source adds that three of Hanifa’s brothers are members of the Taliban, yet her husband, Rozuddin, is a civilian laborer with no political affiliations. As of now, the Taliban have not issued any statement regarding the incident.
