RASC News Agency: Family members of Abdul Wahed Rasooli, the former Kabul Bank manager in Balkh province, reported his disappearance along with two of his associates in Islamabad. Rasooli’s relatives informed the media that he and his two companions went missing on Thursday afternoon, Apr 18, from the I-10 area of Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.

According to their account, the incident was reported to the Islamabad police, but there has been no information on the whereabouts of Rasooli and his companions. Rasooli’s family stated that his residency documents were in order; however, they visited several police stations in the capital of Pakistan, but none confirmed his or his companions’ arrest.

Mohammad Nasim Ziaee, a former Kabul Bank driver in Balkh, and Hirmatullah Hashimi, Rasooli’s close friend, were the other two individuals who disappeared with him. Pakistani security officials have assured Rasooli’s family that they are investigating the case, but there has been no progress so far.

Following the Taliban’s takeover of the country, many Afghanistani citizens, particularly government employees, have sought refuge in neighboring countries and the region, mainly in Pakistan and Iran. Meanwhile, incidents of murder and disappearance of Afghanistani citizens in various cities in Pakistan have raised concerns among Afghanistani refugees.
