Taliban Arrest Three Female Protesters and Their Brother in Dasht-e Barchi, Kabul

RASC News Agency: According to sources, Taliban members recently detained three female protesters along with their brother from the Dasht-e Barchi area of Kabul city. Sources informed the media that Shahrazad, Nadia, Elahah, and their brother Yahya Rezai were apprehended from their residence in Dasht-e Barchi by Taliban members on Wednesday evening, Mar 27.

The reasons for the Taliban’s detention of Shahrazad, Nadia, Elahah, and Yahya Rezai remain unclear. The Taliban has not yet commented on the matter, although the detention of female protesters by the Taliban is not a new issue. Previously, the Taliban had detained many girls in various provinces of the country for protesting against the group’s restrictive orders.

During the Taliban’s rule of over two years, the group imposed numerous restrictions on citizens, especially women and girls, leading to the emergence of some protests. Deprivation of girls’ right to education, restrictions on free movement, and the ban on women’s employment in governmental and non-governmental institutions are among the fundamental restrictions imposed by the Taliban on Afghanistani women and girls.
