RASC News Agency: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has announced the distribution of life-saving food aid to about 16 million people in Afghanistan in the first six months of this year.

In a tweet, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees thanked countries like India for providing humanitarian aid to Afghanistani.

Meanwhile, the United Nations World Food Program (WFP) said it needs one billion dollars to help the needy in Afghanistan in the next six months.

The spokesman of this department has warned that if this money does not reach them, the aid will be cut off with millions of other needy Afghanistani.

Based on the United Nations report, more than 29.2 million Afghanistanis need humanitarian aid.

Meanwhile, in his latest report, OCHA expressed concern about the increase in the number of people in need of humanitarian aid and said that if the aid does not continue, vulnerable Afghanistani families will face hunger, disease and even possible death in the coming winter season.

OCHA cited the consecutive war and drought in the last few years as the reasons why Afghanistanis are in dire need of humanitarian aid.

It should be noted that the need of Afghanistani people for humanitarian aid increased when the Taliban group ruled Afghanistan, but following the ban on women’s work in non-governmental aid agencies, including the offices of the United Nations, the amount of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan decreased and this increased the need of Afghanistanis.

At the same time, after the re-emergence of this group in the country, economic crises have increased in the country, the unemployment rate has increased and the poverty ceiling has also reached its peak.
