RASC News Agency: Health officials in Takhar Province have recently raised concerns about the shortage of healthcare equipment and inadequate medication in the region. Gholam Sarwar Rahmani, the head of the Taliban’s public health department in Takhar, highlighted in a press conference on Tuesday, Feb 20, the department’s need for medicine, medical supplies, and ambulances.

Additionally, Mr. Rahmani pointed out that currently, 21 health centers in Takhar lack permanent buildings, relying instead on rented structures to deliver healthcare services. These challenges have emerged as the healthcare sector in Afghanistan grapples with various issues following the Taliban’s assumption of power, notably the insufficient availability of medication.

It is worth noting that these healthcare sector challenges underscore the heightened necessity for assistance from international relief agencies to support the Afghanistani population.
