RASC News Agency: The Afghanistan Freedom Front asserts that its forces have recently launched an assault on a Taliban outpost in Kabul city as part of their ongoing operations against Taliban positions. According to a press release issued by the Freedom Front, the attack occurred around 8:30 PM on Friday night, Feb 16, targeting a Taliban outpost at the intersection of Dahn Bagh Zananah in Kabul city.

The opposition group’s communique indicates that as a result of the assault, two Taliban members were killed, and three others were wounded. Prior to the dissemination of this press release by the Freedom Front, residents of Kabul had reported an explosion near a Taliban outpost. The Freedom Front’s statement elucidates: “The Taliban stationed at this outpost had been harassing and torturing residents of the second district of Kabul city under various pretexts, accusing them of affiliations with the former government’s security forces.”

As of yet, the Taliban has not commented on the attack by the Freedom Front’s forces, despite intensified offensives by anti-Taliban factions against their positions. In one instance, on Feb 11, the Afghanistan Freedom Front claimed that as a result of its forces’ assault on a Taliban group in Charikar city, the provincial capital of Parwan province, four members of the group, including one of their commanders, were killed, and three others were injured.
