RASC News Agency: Officials from the Taliban in Helmand province state that a traffic incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon, Feb 21, in the outskirts of the province, resulting in 13 fatalities and injuries. Qasim Riyaz, the spokesperson for the Taliban’s governor in Helmand province, informed the media that the incident took place in Lashkargah city.

According to Riyaz, two individuals lost their lives, and eleven others were injured, including women and children, as a result of this incident. This comes as the statistics on traffic incidents have significantly increased lately in several provinces of the country, claiming lives and injuring many. In the latest incident, prior to this one, seven individuals, including two women and five men, lost their lives, and two others were injured in a traffic accident in Samangan province.

According to experts, factors contributing to the occurrence of traffic accidents include road conditions and their lack of standards, drivers’ recklessness, non-compliance with traffic laws, and the difficulty of some routes.
