RASC News Agency: According to credible sources from Baghlan province, the Taliban recently apprehended a local resident in the Pol-e Hisar district of the province as part of their arbitrary detentions of civilians. Sources informed the media on Saturday, Feb 10, that around 6:00 PM yesterday, Taliban members raided the village of Nobahar in the Pol-e Hisar Andarab district and, after conducting a house-to-house search, detained an individual.
The detained individual is identified as Abdul Kobar, who was involved in business activities and had no association with political or military factions opposed to the Taliban. However, an additional source indicated that Abdul Kobar was detained by the Taliban forces on allegations of collaborating with anti-Taliban groups. The Taliban’s detention of local individuals in various provinces across the country on various pretexts, including alleged collaboration with opposition forces and criticism of their regime, is not unprecedented.
In a previous incident, the Taliban detained four residents of Panjshir province who were employed in ordinary positions from the central and district areas of Onaba and Rokha districts of the province. During their more than two years of governance over the nation, the Taliban group has faced repeated accusations from human rights organizations of widespread human rights violations, particularly targeting women, girls, and minorities.
