Khalilzad: The Afghanistan saga remains incomplete
SHARE

RASC News Agency: The hearing of the congressional Foreign Relations Committee on the Doha Agreement commenced on Thursday, February 15th, with Zalmay Khalilzad, the former US envoy for Afghanistan peace, staunchly defending the accord. In his address to the committee, the former US envoy for Afghanistan peace asserted that Afghanistan’s narrative remains incomplete, emphasizing the ongoing struggle for the nation.

Khalilzad, while endorsing the Biden administration’s handling of the Doha Agreement, remarked, “The seeds we have sown will soon bear fruit.” Simultaneously, Khalilzad attributed the collapse of Afghanistan to former President Ashraf Ghani, holding him accountable for undermining America’s entire engagement in Afghanistan and its subsequent demise.

Meanwhile, the congressional Foreign Relations Committee continues its session on the implications of the Doha Agreement and the Biden administration’s failure in its implementation, with Khalilzad facing criticism within the discourse.
