RASC News Agency: Reliable sources in Kabul province have reported that members of the Taliban in the city recently apprehended a young man from Panjshir. This arrest follows numerous arbitrary detentions of citizens, particularly those hailing from Panjshir. The incident occurred three days ago, as confirmed by sources from Kabul province on Wednesday, January 10th.
The young man, identified as Emal, was a prominent resident of Dara district in Panjshir province. According to his captors, the Taliban demanded a ransom of 500,000 Kabuli rupees, the current currency of Afghanistan, for his release. It is crucial to note that the arrest of Panjshir residents by the Taliban is not a new occurrence. This extremist group has consistently exhibited violent behavior towards non-Pashtun citizens, specifically targeting Panjshir residents and subjecting them to arbitrary arrests on numerous occasions.
According to reports, the Taliban has engaged in extorting money from the family of a Panjshir province resident who went missing under various pretexts. When the family filed a complaint, they were subsequently threatened with death by the group. The arrest of this young man further underscores the urgent need for action to address the human rights violations perpetrated by the Taliban.
Furthermore, it is imperative to highlight that a significant number of residents from Panjshir province have been arrested on charges of collaborating with and being members of military fronts against the Taliban. Moreover, the press officials of the Taliban have refrained from expressing any opinion regarding these arrests.
