India: The Problems of the Afghanistan Embassy in New Delhi are an Internal Matter

RASC: Following the publication of reports that the Taliban attempted to take over the Afghanistan embassy in New Delhi, the Indian government has said that this is an internal matter that has nothing to do with them.

Representatives of Afghanistan expatriates living in India have accused officials of the Afghanistan embassy in Delhi, including the ambassador, of corruption, which the embassy denies.

Meanwhile, the Indian media reported the resistance of the Afghanistan embassy officials against the Taliban’s attempt to officially control the embassy.

Indian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said in a press conference that this issue is an internal matter of the embassy.

“From our point of view, this is an internal issue of the Afghanistan embassy and we hope that they will resolve it internally,” Bagchi said.
