RASC News Agency: The National Resistance Front recently reported the assassination of a Taliban commander in Takhar province as part of their ongoing campaign to target Taliban forces and bases across various provinces.
On Wednesday, December 6th, media sources were informed that the commander of the 2nd company of the Taliban in Takhar province was killed by the National Resistance Front in Taleqan, the provincial center. The commander, known as Zubair or Qari Sonat, was identified by sources associated with the National Resistance Front. However, the Taliban group in Takhar province has yet to issue an official statement regarding their commander’s demise.
Significantly, there has been a notable surge in attacks carried out by opposing groups against Taliban forces and positions in multiple provinces. The Freedom Front of Afghanistan, another group opposed to the Taliban, recently claimed responsibility for killing a Taliban commander named Huzaifa in Takhar province. As attacks by opposing fronts intensify, Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the National Resistance Front, emphasizes the growing momentum of armed resistance against the Taliban.
Massoud unequivocally asserts that he requires no permission to engage in combat against the Taliban. These developments raise concerns among some high-ranking officials within the Taliban group. Besides the National Resistance Front, several other factions actively confront the Taliban, engaging in covert operations and providing media outlets with detailed reports on their efforts and resulting casualties.
