RASC News Agency: Following the dissemination of news about the execution of two engineers from the Qosh Tepa canal project in Jowzjan province, sources confirm that the deceased were service employees of a private contracting company.VOn the night of Monday, June 3rd, unidentified gunmen stormed the office of a private company named “Ridi Gul” in the Sakhiabad area of Sheberghan city, opening fire on the cook and the cleaner.

Previous reports had indicated that those who were gunned down by unknown shooters were engineers of the Qosh Tepa canal project. A source from the National Development Company also confirmed the deaths of these two employees, refuting earlier reports that claimed the victims were engineers from the company.

The identities of the victims have yet to be determined, but the “Ridi Gul” company, alongside other contractors, was engaged in excavation work on parts of the Qosh Tepa canal. As of now, no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the incident, and the Taliban have not issued any explanation regarding this attack.

This incident marks the first attack on personnel associated with the Qosh Tepa project since its commencement in Jowzjan province. Uzbekistan has repeatedly expressed concerns over the excavation of the Qosh Tepa canal, asserting that it results in the wastage of a significant portion of water.
