RASC News Agency: The UN special coordinator for Afghanistan has announced his meeting with a number of active Afghanistani women in Turkey.
Ferydon Sinirlioglu, the United Nations special coordinator for Afghanistan affairs, wrote in a message on the X social network today, Friday, September 1, that he spoke about the human rights situation in Afghanistan during his four-day visit.
According to him, different groups of men and women who live outside of Afghanistan participated in these meetings.
Meanwhile, the “Women’s Assembly on Afghanistan” also wrote in a message on the X platform that the main topic they discussed in this meeting was about respecting the fundamental rights of women in Afghanistan.
According to the statements of this forum, both sides emphasized the unity among Afghanistani people in this meeting.
Referring to the deprivation of women from their basic rights, the women’s forum added that the role of women should not be ignored, because women can play an important role in the field of unity in the country.
It should be noted that Sinirlioglu was appointed as the United Nations special coordinator for Afghanistan affairs in April and is currently managing an assessment on Afghanistan.
This is despite the fact that in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group, women are facing increasing restrictions from this group.
The restrictions imposed by the Taliban group on Afghanistani women have been met with widespread reactions from international institutions, and one of the reasons why this group has not yet been recognized globally is that this group ignores their basic rights.
