RASC News Agency: For the first time, in the 16th International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad (IOAE) held in Poland, among the astronomy representatives of 53 countries of the world, the project of the private astronomical association “Kaihana” from Afghanistan won the first place.

“Kaihana” Private Astronomical Society wrote on its Facebook account on Saturday, August 26: “We are happy to announce that in this Olympiad, the project of the Afghanistan Olympiad group won the first place.”

This association said that among the plans of 53 countries in the world, with the votes of all participating members, leaders, observers and students of the International Olympiad of Astronomy and Astrophysics, who should have voted for the best plans; Afghanistan won the most votes.

This Astronomical Society said that the members of the Afghanistan Olympiad could not participate in the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad exam because their visas were not issued by the Polish country.

This institution said that the main reason for not issuing visas to members of the Afghanistan Olympiad was “political considerations”.

According to this association, only Amina Karimian, one of the leaders of this astronomy organization, was able to represent Afghanistan in this Olympiad.

This association has said that winning a medal in the Astronomy and Astrophysics Olympiad was not a one- or two-year task and it is not easy or easy to get it.

The Kaihana Astronomical Society added that it will soon start its registration for the 2024 Olympiad.

This is despite the fact that girls in Afghanistan have been deprived of secondary, high school and university education after the Taliban took control again.

Previously, the brilliance of the Afghanistani girls’ robotics team in the world competition had surprised and admired the observers and judges.
