RASC: The National Resistance Council for the Rescue of Afghanistan said on July 18, in a statement regarding the expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Turkey, that the expulsion of these refugees would expose them to the risk of torture, imprisonment, and death in Afghanistan under the control of the Taliban group.

According to this council, Afghanistani refugees sought refuge in Turkey and other countries after the fall of Kabul in order to save their lives and escape from torture, imprisonment and targeted killings by the Taliban group.

This council has requested Turkey to be gentle and soft regarding the expulsion of Afghanistani refugees from Turkey.

This is despite the fact that the president of Turkey announced a change in immigration policies regarding asylum seekers, especially illegal asylum seekers, and said that his forces are intensifying the process of deporting asylum seekers without documents.

In the latest case of deportation of illegal asylum seekers, Turkey detained and returned 138 Afghanistani refugees to the country on Sunday, July 16.

This action takes place while the amount of illegal immigration has increased in the country for various reasons after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan.

According to published statistics, more than 300,000 Afghanistani immigrants are currently living in Turkey.
