German Interior Ministry: A Repressive Terrorist Regime Now Governs Afghanistan

RASC News Agency: The German Ministry of the Interior has denounced the Taliban’s rule in Afghanistan, labeling it a humiliating and oppressive terrorist regime. Speaking to international media on Monday, March 10, a ministry spokesperson described the dire humanitarian conditions under Taliban rule, emphasizing the worsening plight of women and girls. Despite these grim realities, the spokesperson reaffirmed Germany’s legal commitment to resettling Afghanistani refugees, asserting that individuals who have received official assurances of asylum can seek legal recourse if necessary to enforce those commitments. “Our obligations for resettlement remain intact under these circumstances,” the official stated.

This declaration comes in response to recent remarks by Friedrich Merz, Germany’s incoming chancellor, who announced on Saturday that his new government would halt all refugee resettlement programs, including those for Afghans. Meanwhile, Bruno Kahl, head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service (BND), revealed that his agency is actively gathering intelligence on Afghanistan to assess Germany’s future approach toward the Taliban regime.

Since the Taliban’s takeover, Germany has evacuated thousands of at-risk Afghanistani citizens. However, many remain stranded in Pakistan, uncertain about their future as they await further action from the German government.
