RASC: According to local sources in Panjshir province, there are no more inhabitants in four villages in the highlands of Shatel district of this province due to forced migrations.

According to the sources, the residents of the villages of Roydara, Arzabeh, Cheshmeab Stefalo and Kahanda Ahmed Andor were forced to move from these villages in the summer of last year.

These villages were located in the final area of Shatel district, parallel to “Arezo” valley, and last year witnessed a fierce conflict between the “Resistance Front” and the Taliban group.

According to reliable sources, some of the residents of these villages were ordered by the Taliban group to leave the villages and some others left their villages because of the violence of this group.

Residents of these villages said that they were beaten by the Taliban group for various reasons and they asked them for weapons, and the responsibility of providing food to the forces of this group was also on the shoulders of the local people.

Sources said that a large number of residents of these four villages have moved to Kabul city and Parwan province.

Sources say that although the civil officials of the Taliban group asked a number of local people to return to their homes, the heavy military presence of this group and the unfavorable living conditions in these villages prevented them from returning.

One of the representatives of the villages of Shatel district, while maintaining his identity, says that the absence of residents in the villages of “Roidera, Arzabeh, Cheshmeab Estafalo and Kahanda Ahmed Andor” has prevented the implementation of the “Afghanistan Social and Livelihood Support” program in these villages.

According to the sources, in the past, Roydera village alone housed nearly 50 families, and each of the other three villages was home to 30 to 40 families.

Shatel district of Panjshir province is adjacent to Parwan and Baghlan provinces. Last year, the heights of this district witnessed fierce clashes between the “Resistance Front” and the Taliban group.

A helicopter belonging to the Taliban group was shot down in Arezo Valley of this district and some members of this group were captured by the Resistance Front.

It should be mentioned that the residents of Panjshir province witnessed many violence and crimes due to the presence and activity of the resistance front in this province since the Taliban took over. Amnesty International said in a report that this group committed war crimes in Panjshir province.
