RASC: Following the increase in tensions regarding the water rights of the Helmand River, the Islamic Republic of Iran newspaper wrote yesterday, July 25, that after 66 days have passed since the President of that country, Seyyed Ibrahim Raisi, warned the Taliban about Iran’s water rights from the Helmand River, this group has not taken any action. No action has been taken in this regard.
This newspaper wrote that it is not in favor of war with the Taliban group; but giving points and accompanying them was a mistake from the beginning and this mistake should not be continued.
It is stated in this article: “In the past 66 days, many movements were made for the implementation of the 1351 treaty between Iran and Afghanistan regarding the delivery of Hirmand water rights to Iran; but none of them led to the flow of water to the thirsty province of Sistan and Baluchistan.”
According to the article of this newspaper, the government of Iran has not even resorted to ordinary political measures in order to implement the warning of the president of that country.
In the continuation of this article, referring to the warnings of Amir Abdollahian, the foreign minister of Iran, that if the Taliban group does not give Iran’s water rights, they will resort to pressure, it is written that this threat has not yet yielded results.
The Islamic Republic newspaper added: “This petrified group not only refused to give Iran’s water rights; rather, they have allowed his affiliated forces to insult Iranian officials even through Afghanistani television.
This is while the Iranian government accuses the Taliban group of not giving the water rights of this country, but the Taliban group has always claimed that the problem of drought has made Afghanistan face a water shortage and considering the amount of water in the Helmand River, they have given Iran’s water rights to the extent of they have given enough.
