RASC News Agency: Local sources from Baghlan province report that amidst ongoing unrest, unidentified gunmen recently executed a Taliban member in the region. On Thursday, August 15, sources informed the media that the Taliban member, identified as Mohammad Hafiz, was fatally shot the previous day along the Tala wa Barfak district road in Baghlan province.
The Taliban have confirmed the execution of their member. Concurrently, sources from the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan released a video, claiming responsibility for the killing of Mohammad Hafiz. Reports indicate that the deceased Taliban member was a resident of “Gilas” village in the “Kotal Kalmurgh” valley of Deh Salah district, Baghlan province.
It is noteworthy that similar incidents have seen a significant rise in various provinces in recent days. In a recent incident, just a few days ago, another Taliban member in Kunar province was killed after allegedly abducting a woman, underscoring the escalating insecurity that has raised concerns among citizens across the country.
These developments come despite the Taliban’s persistent claims of having established nationwide security since their return to power. However, their members continue to be targeted. In a separate incident not long ago, unidentified gunmen attacked a vehicle carrying Taliban civilian employees in Kabul, resulting in the deaths of seven and injuries to several others.
These reports from various parts of the country indicate that the Taliban have been unable to ensure the safety and security of the nation’s citizens, rendering their claims of nationwide security increasingly baseless.
