RASC News Agency: Local sources from Takhar province reported on Saturday, January 27th, that the Taliban group’s court officials in the province have issued verdicts for seven men and four women on various charges and publicly punished them. The incident occurred during a gathering in the primary court area of the Taliban group in Rustaq district. The individuals were arrested by the Taliban group on charges such as extramarital relationships, running away from home, and theft.

The accused were subjected to whipping, with the number of lashes ranging from 20 to 39, according to the officials of the Taliban group in Takhar province. Additionally, the court sentenced the accused to imprisonment for a period of one to five years, along with the whipping sentence. Despite facing criticism from human rights institutions, the Taliban group has persisted in conducting non-official court proceedings and publicly punishing individuals.

In a recent incident, the Taliban group whipped 11 individuals, including three women, in the city court of Talaqan city, the center of Takhar province. The individuals were also sentenced to prison. The actions of the Taliban group, including their non-official court and public punishments, have drawn reactions from human rights institutions. However, the group has continued to carry out these practices despite the criticism.
