RASC News Agency: In the wake of retaliatory measures by the Taliban against former government military personnel, local sources in Ghazni province report the recent killing of a returning ex-military member from Iran by the Taliban. Sources informed the media on Sunday, December 24th, that this former government military member, previously part of the special police force, succumbed to the Taliban’s violence last night.

While the precise identity of this slain former military member by the Taliban remains unclear, sources indicate he was a member of the special police force stationed in the “Palaw-e Surkh Yar Fulad” region in Ghor province. Local Taliban authorities in Ghor have yet to comment on the killing of this former government military member. This transpires despite the Taliban’s public amnesty declaration, as they persist in various actions, including detentions, imprisonments, torture, and, in some instances, killings of former government military personnel since their assumption of power. In a recent incident, the Taliban killed a returning ex-military member named Roouf in the Dasht-e Shor area of Mazar-i-Sharif, the central city of Balkh province.

According to United Nations reports and daily updates from various provinces, the Taliban face widespread accusations of violating the rights of citizens, especially women and former government military personnel. It is noteworthy that following the Taliban’s takeover, a substantial number of former government military personnel and civil activists left the country, seeking refuge in neighboring nations due to fear of the Taliban and other challenges confronting the nation.
