RASC News Agency: Local sources from Kabul province have reported an explosion that occurred on Saturday, January 6th, at the Qala-e-Nazir station in the western part of Kabul. The explosion took place in a “Coaster” vehicle that was carrying civilians. Khadija Panahi, a graduate of graphic arts from Kabul University, lost her life in this incident. Khadija was returning from an English-language center when the explosion occurred.
Mrs. Panahi, who was 31 years old, had been working as a graphic designer and animator in Kabul for a decade. She was actively involved in collaborating with both governmental and non-governmental organizations, contributing to the design and creation of brands and advertising clips. Khadija’s dedication and expertise in her field had made her an invaluable asset to the industry.
According to the sources, Khadija had been married for three years and had recently enrolled in an English language center to prepare for the TOEFL international exam. In addition, she was engaged in training when the explosion took place, resulting in her demise. The severity of the blast and subsequent burns made it challenging to identify Khadija’s body until forensic medicine was able to confirm her identity.
It is important to note that, in addition to Khadija, three other individuals, including two young university graduates, were reported to have lost their lives in this tragic incident. The Taliban group claimed responsibility for the explosion, stating that it resulted in two deaths and 14 injuries. However, the Khorasan branch of ISIS later claimed responsibility and stated that at least 20 individuals had been killed in the blast.
