RASC News Agency: Following the January 6th explosion of a civilian car in western Kabul, claimed by ISIS, political figures in the country, including former president Hamid Karzai, vehemently condemned the incident as a “terrorist” act, deeming it contrary to Islamic principles and inhumane. Mr. Karzai expressed sympathy for the victims through a message on the X social media platform. Abdullah Abdullah, the former head of the Supreme Peace Council, also denounced the attack, asserting that targeting civilians contradicts Islamic teachings and human values.
Moreover, political activist Asif Ashna shared video footage of the explosion on social media, revealing the severe damage to the targeted car. He emphasized that images captured moments after the blast depicted at least four bodies near the burned-out vehicle. Karim Khalili, the leader of Hezbe Wahdat, echoed the condemnation and urged the Taliban group to identify and prosecute the perpetrators. He stressed that the “hidden hands” behind these attacks are considered “terrorists,” and if the Taliban fails to disclose the culprits, they will be viewed as “criminal accomplices.”
Despite the Taliban’s repeated assurances that Afghanistan won’t become a safe haven for terrorists, reports indicate that terrorist organizations, including ISIS, remain active in the country.
