RASC News Agency: Residents in the Nawur district of Ghazni province report that the Taliban, acting upon the assertions of a few Nomads or Kuchis, have levied a fine of five million and five hundred thousand Kabuli Rupees upon them. Individuals conveyed to the media on Thursday, December 14th, that they disbursed this sum to the Kuchis yesterday. According to sources, the Kuchis claim that 25 years ago, 200 of their cattle were confiscated during their passage through the Nawur district.

Sources indicate that based on the Taliban’s edict from yesterday, residents of the “Meyana Dang” area, encompassing the villages of Wagh, Sabznalah, and Joshan in the Nawur district of Ghazni province, were obligated to remit this amount. Simultaneously, residents of Nawur province declared that this Taliban edict is “unjust,” asserting their unawareness of the “incident” involving the disappearance of Kuchis’ sheep in this district.

The Taliban group has yet to comment on these allegations, and this occurs as these actions by the Taliban are not unprecedented. In a similar scenario last year, the group compelled residents of Baha’i district in Nawur province to pay a fine of ten million Kabuli Rupees to Kuchis. It is noteworthy that Kuchis, backed by the Taliban subsequent to the group’s control over the country, have, based on analogous claims, extracted Million fines from residents of these districts in central Afghanistan.

It should be emphasized that according to sources, in the majority of disputes between Kuchis and local residents, the Taliban has favored the Kuchis, issuing edicts in their favor and infringing upon the rights of local residents.
