RASC: The Coalition of Afghanistani Women’s Protest Movements said in a statement on Friday, July 8, that the Taliban group, during its two-year rule over the country, among other cases of human rights violations and oppression of the Afghanistani people, deprived women and girls of access to education. Moreover, other fundamental rights have been denied, which is an unforgivable crime.
In this announcement, the coalition said in connection with the campaign to reopen girls’ schools under the rule of the Taliban group, that the Taliban have been responsible for bombings, setting fire to schools, poisoning and killing students in the past 22 years.
The coalition added that it seems that the audience of this campaign is the Taliban group and the organizers of this campaign have demanded the right to education for girls from the Taliban group.
Referring to the 20-year war of the Taliban group with the previous government, this coalition has said that they do not recognize the crimes of this group, including “the attack on Sayed Al-Shuhada School and the Mawhood Course, the killing of open-minded and knowledgeable young people in Kabul University, and the poisoning of female students throughout Afghanistan.” We forgive and not forget.”
The declaration added that with their knowledge of the Taliban group, the activation of girls’ schools “creates the ground for extremism and its growth and ensures the survival of the terrorist and fanatical system of the Taliban group through the contamination and brainwashing of women.”
The Coalition of Women’s Protest Movements has written that the main demand of our struggle until today is to end the repressive regime of the Taliban group in Afghanistan.
According to the announcement, the members of this coalition believe that the Taliban group is unchangeable and will never surrender to the human values and equality of women and girls.
The Coalition of Women’s Protest Movements has said that: “No to the Talabani School”, “No to the Talabani curriculum!” In addition “No to Talabani University!”
The coalition has emphasized that this has been their wish since the beginning of the Taliban group’s domination over Afghanistan, and besides, the illegitimacy of the Taliban group and the creation of an inclusive system based on the will of the people and relying on the meaningful participation of women, religions and all ethnic groups in the country are also among the wishes of the coalition.
In this declaration, it is also stated that during the rule of the Taliban group over Afghanistan, women and girls suffered all kinds of torture and oppression, and some of them were killed and some are still missing.
They also emphasize, we believe that under the shadow of the Taliban government, social justice will not be provided for women and religious groups and marginalized peoples.
According to them, only the opening of schools, that too with the curriculum favored by the Taliban group, will not improve the situation in the country.
The coalition of women’s protest movements continues to say that they stick to the main claim of their struggle and they ask other citizens of the country to stand by them.
